The main contender he’s up against is last season’s player of the year, Kevin De Bruyne – who just grabbed two assists in a 5-0 drubbing against Burnley after we recorded this video, LOL. Prior to the match the Belgian and his Manchester City side were struggling to show their star quality, especially in their 2-0 defeat to Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur last week.

It’s not just in the Premier League that Bruno Fernandes is up against, with Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich also hitting great form before he picked up an injury which rules him out until January.
